.. currently attending DIgital Construction Week convention in Excel London, and joined one of the sessions - there are 4-5 session theatres (maybe more) well planned and placed around the space.. but, the isse is: speakers make it a horrible experience for people sitting nearby these..
.. reminder for myself > invest into headphone technology and spare the ears of your attendees..
and, a better shot of the speaker stands located in the corners of the session theatre islands:
.. another issue I noticed > when a microphones one comes close to the speakers > there is a nasty noise.. veru unpleasant..
went acroos to another event at the same exhibition centre > in theis case it is an event for IT security experts "Infosecurity Europe" >> the setup here are on a different level.
1) the presentation spaces that some exhibitors have tend to have speakers > but these are located on the top parts of the wall where they have screens. few samples:
and this amazing stand:

and here is a session theare: spaciousand with wireless headphones >> tested it and can surely say: what a superb experience!!! .. clear sound, you can adjust the volume, if people besides are talking - they don't bother you neither.. simply genious!!
returning back to the Digital Construction Week event > went to explore the session theatres located in the middle of the event space.. hummm, interesting, the "Information Management Stage" has a hybrid solution: speakers (still the same floor standing speakers in the corners) + headphones:
it was interesting to notica that most people still prefer not wearing headphones.. interesting fact..
I also noticed the same fact that, even though available, people don't wear the headphones, even though these provide better sound, reduce background noise and allow you to concentrate better on the presentation:
as I was checking out the venue for my next event in London, another event (Research Summit 2025) had created this nice and estetic stage with silent headphones:
the stage is placed in 1 of the wings on the 1st floor (while on the ground floor there is exhibiting and networking area). It would be in the far side:
note: both photos are from different events as most event organizers, I ocasionally visit the venue and always enjoy seeing what others (especially more experienced organizers and with larger budgets) do.
